Christopher Lehman, co-author of "Pathways to the Common Core," will debunk myths, extract meaning and provide needed guidance on the nation’s challenge of adopting the Common Core State Standards for teachers, administrators and friends of the School of Education.

  • 5:30-6 p.m. Reception 
  • 6-7 p.m. Christopher Lehman gives an analysis of the standards from which to launch an informed approach to this critical initiative 
  • 7-7:30 p.m. Lehman addresses your questions and concerns around this new initiative
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Christopher Lehman, a UW-Madison alumnus, has authored and co-authored a number of popular books for educators including "Pathways to the Common Core" with Lucy Calkins and Mary Ehrenworth. He has been a middle school teacher, a high school teacher and a literacy coach. For seven years he served as a staff developer with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University and now consults privately with schools and organizations around the world. His unwavering belief that every child can succeed drives his practical, research-driven and engaging work with students and educators
