Professor of Art Gives Back to the Community

January 31, 2012

Example of Photograph by Professor of ArtJim Escalante – art professor, alumnus and associate dean –participated in a community event honoring the old Central Public Library.  “Bookless," showcased work from more than 100 local artists, including many from the Art Department, inspired by the library space and materials.   Escalante’s inspiring photographs capture the traditional essence of the bookcases and library space that was treasured by many, and his participation in the event helped bring the University closer to its community.

As all of the proceeds from the event will go to the Madison Public Library Foundation's Learning for a Lifetime: The Community Campaign for a New Central Library, Escalante’s act of giving along with the other various artists will enhance the community and  give the residents something to be proud of.
