The story follows the college basketball career Kuhn never expected. She had played in high school but "never dreamed of being an NCAA Division I athlete." She has even started in three games this season against Mississippi Valley State, Marquette and UW-Green Bay.

Kuhn tells the State Journal: “My attitude when I approach practice every day is to do what I can to not only improve myself but make the team better and challenge them ... Because of that I was able to start a few games, which is really meaningful and special to me.”

The report notes that  Kuhn earned Academic All-Big Ten honors last season and after graduating in May with a degree in kinesiology, she plans to pursue a career as a physician’s assistant.

The article quotes Kuhn as saying: “It’s meant a lot to me. ... It’s something I never expected to happen and it’s been such an incredible opportunity and a blessing. It’s something I’m so thankful for and have enjoyed every minute of.”
