UW-Madison's Bauman quoted in Cap Times about Lapham Elementary art class

April 19, 2017

UW-Madison student Tannah Bauman was quoted in an article from The Capital Times about an art class that allows elementary-school students to explore sculptures and public art.

Bauman is a student in the Arts Education program with the School of Education.

"Buildementary: Outdoor Sculptures by Kids," is a 12-week art class at Madison's Lapham Elementary. Students learn about both local, Madison-based and global artists while making their own sculptures.

“It is fun to see their process,” Bauman tells the Cap Times. “We started with the tiny drawings, we went around and got them to come up with their own ideas. To translate (their ideas) into the beginning of sculpture has been really cool.”
