‘Point of View’ — Cap Times features four artists with ties to UW-Madison

Capital Times reports on four artists with ties to UW-MadisonThe Capital Times newspaper used the cover of its Oct. 3 edition to put the spotlight on four talented artists with ties to the School of Education’s Art Department.

The report is headlined: “Point of View: Four Madison artists make new work, ask questions and build community.”

The artists being featured are:

Anwar Floyd-Pruitt, who recently started his second year with the Art Department’s master of fine arts program, focusing on 4D art, which includes video and performance.

Tomiko Jones, a photographer and new faculty member with the Art Department.

Evan Gruzis, an alumnus who earned his BFA from the Art Department in 2002. He spent some seven years on the international art show cycle before he and his wife, Nicole Rogers, moved to Madison in 2015.

• And Alaura Borealis, who earned an undergraduate degree from the Art Department in 2012. Their current social project, “Season of Shadows,” is built on more than a dozen one-on-one interviews with queer friends and acquaintances.
