Professor Julie Mead (ELPA), an expert on the legal aspects of K12 education (school law), co-authored a policy brief through the National Education Policy Center entitled, "Chartering Equity: Using Charter School Legislation and Policy to Advance Equal Education Opportunity."
The policy brief discusses the ways in which charter schools have impacted equity and diversity in K12 education to date as well as the legal foundations of equal educational opportunity. Additionally, Mead outlines recommendations for using charter schools to further advance equal educational opportunity.
