Partners in Giving recognizes UW-Madison's School of Education

March 14, 2017

UW-Madison’s School of Education was honored by the Partners in Giving campaign during a ceremony March 14 at Union South.

The School placed third in the category of Increase in Percent Participation (2.77 percent) in agencies and units over 400 people in the Partners in Giving campaign this year.

That increase was bolstered by a generous anonymous matching donation challenge that was offered late in the campaign for workers across the School of Education. The School’s Partners in Giving efforts were chaired by Barb Smith Simons, MERIT’s manage of media services.

The award was given out by the Partners in Giving Campaign Committee during  the 2016 Leadership & Volunteer Awards Ceremony. Also presented during the March 14 event at Union South was a check for more than $2.5 million to the campaign umbrella groups.

Partners in Giving is a nationally recognized state employee workplace fundraising campaign in Dane County. It raises millions of dollars each year for over 500 charities. Every October, hundreds of employee volunteers reach out to their Dane County colleagues at state agencies, including UW-Madison and UW Health. Employees are given the opportunity to make a donation to the charity or charities of their choice.
