Arts Institute to honor 2017 Awards in the Creative Arts recipients May 9

UW-Madison’s Arts Institute recently announced its annual award winners, and several people with connections to the School of Education are being recognized with top honors.

• T.L. Solien, faculty member with the School of Education’s Art Department, is receiving the Arts Institute Creative Arts Award

• Lisa Gralnick, faculty member with the Art Department, is receiving the Emily Mead Baldwin Award in the Creative Arts.

• Aristotle Georgiades, faculty member with the Art Department, is receiving the Edna Wiechers Arts in Wisconsin Award.

• Allison Roberts, a graduate student with the Art Department, is receiving the David and Edith Sinaiko Frank Graduate Fellowship for a Woman in the Arts.

• John Hallett, a graduate student with the Art Department, is receiving the Lyman S.V. Judson & Ellen Mackechnie Judson Student Award in the Creative Arts.

• And  Lyndsay Lewis, an undergraduate with the School’s of Education’s Dance Department, is also receiving the Lyman S.V. Judson & Ellen Mackechnie Judson Student Award in the Creative Arts.

The UW-Madison Arts Institute provides research support to faculty, staff and students in the arts. Each spring, the Arts Institute recognizes achievements and professional service along with supporting future creative endeavors and research.

The awards are divided into three categories: Arts Faculty Research, Arts Faculty and Staff Outreach and Undergraduate and Graduate Student Achievement in the Arts.

All of this year’s recipients will be honored on May 9 in the Education Building.
