June 28, 2017

Recent graduates of UW-Madison’s Art Department Jeremy Nuttall and Elizabeth Thorp are recipients of the International Sculpture Center's (ISC) Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards.

Nuttall and Thorp both received their Master of Fine Arts degrees earlier this year.

The program also draws attention for all of the sculpture programs in the participating universities, colleges and art schools.

A prestigious panel selected 15 award recipients and 16 honorable mentions from a total of 356 students nominated from over 137 participating sculpture programs spread across universities, colleges and art schools in five different countries.

The 15 award recipients will participate in an exhibition at Belger Arts Center starting in October in Kansas City. Their work will also be featured in Sculpture magazine, the ISC's award-winning publication.

UW-Madison's Art Department is housed within the School of Education.
