UW-Madison's Younce to present MFA thesis exhibition 'Bestiary' April 16-28

April 13, 2018
UW-Madison's Elizabeth Jean Younce will present her master of fine arts thesis exhibition from April 16 through April 28 at the Tandem Press Apex Gallery.

The exhibition, "Bestiary," is a collection of fine art prints and involves the physical collection of natural specimens from forests, prairies and bodies of water.

In her work, Younce explores the ideas of fear and being overwhelmed and deconstructs the concept of being a fertile being by examining the parallels between the evolution of plants, animals and humans.

The exhibition grapples with questions that define humanity: identity, equality, self-worth, depression, growth, change, life and ultimately death.

Younce is a student with the School of Education's Art Department.
