UW-Madison's Underwood to speak at June 6 public education forum

UW-Madison's Julie Underwood will speak at the "Keeping the 'Public' in Public Schools," forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Dane County on June 6.

Underwood is the Susan Engeleiter Professor of Education Law, Policy, and Practice, and the former dean of the School of Education.

Underwood will be discussing the many changes afoot in Wisconsin education policy, including expanding voucher programs and the changes in state funding over the last few budget cycles. 

The forum will be on Wednesday, June 6, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Capitol Lakes (333 W. Main St., Madison) Grand Hall, and the event is free and open to the public.
